Modelling

Maree supported herself working as a fashion model while a student and before she began work as a designer for Prue Acton. She had success working with photographers such as Maurice Mead, Dieter Muller and Athol Shmith. Her understanding of fashion design and presentation gave her valuable modelling skills so plenty of work came her way via agencies such as Georgia Gold and Vivien’s of Paddington.
In the early 70s she was seen on the popular and very successful Chrysler Valiant ‘Charger’ advertisements on television.
Maree wrote a fashion ideas column for the popular youth newspaper Go-Set in 1971-72, and she was the model for her own designs along with photographer friend Ray Strong.
